About IMA!
Imam Motala Academy (IMA), formerly known as Al-Ashraaf, was established in September 2013 in Newham, London, under the guidance of our late ustaadh and mentor, Shaykhulhadith Hazrat Maulana Yusuf Motala Saheb (R.A.). IMA specializes in the memorization of the Holy Qur’an from the very beginning of a child’s educational journey. Our commitment to nurturing the potential of our students is at the core of our mission. At IMA, we take pride in fostering a safe, caring, moral, and spiritual environment where pupils are nurtured to develop good AKHLAQ (morals and manners) based on the noble teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). We believe that an effective partnership between home and madrasah is beneficial in supporting children in their learning. As a result, we use Class Dojo. Class Dojo is a communication application (app) which connects parents/carers, teachers and children

At Imam Motala Academy, our mission
is to empower our students by granting them access to beneficial Islamic knowledge, engaging in inspirational projects, and fostering initiatives rooted in unity, love, and kindness. Our ultimate aim is to contribute to a community of upright individuals and devout Muslims, all in the name of seeking Allah’s pleasure.
Our Madrasah values, inspired by the Arabic word ‘AKHLAQ,’ are the guiding principles we instill in our students. They earn blessings when they exhibit these values in their daily lives:
A – Appreciation (Shukr): Displaying gratitude for all blessings, no matter how big or small.
K – Kindness (Rahma): Following the example of Allah’s kindness and showing mercy to others.
H – Honesty (Sadaqah): Upholding truthfulness, as honesty leads to goodness.

Online Weekday & Weekends
At Imam Motala Academy, we understand that not everyone is able to attend our onsite Madrasah Service due to various reasons, such as distance or time constraints. That’s why we have expanded our services to offer a flexible and convenient online option for parents who prefer their child’s learning to take place at home.
Our online Madrasah Service covers similar topics to our onsite Madrasah classes, and we use interactive teaching methods to keep children engaged and motivated. We encourage children to revise what they have learned throughout the week to reinforce their knowledge and skills.
By offering an online option, we aim to provide a convenient and accessible way for children to continue their Quran and Islamic Studies education. We believe that every child should have access to quality Islamic education, regardless of their circumstances, and our online Madrasah Service is a testament to that belief.
